Welcome to Royal Rugs

Royal Rugs would like to take you to the Portuguese Monarchy in ancient times when Kings and Queens had their palaces, floors, walls and tables adorned with the finest rugs that gold could buy. These ancient rugs can now be seen in museums all over the world. Many of these rugs date as far back as the 12th century.

Today not many crafters practice the art of Arraiolos needle stitch. I have been fortunate to have learned this ancient art from Sister Theresa, while growing up in Portugal. I wish to preserve this ancient art and I offer my services to you.
